So during the summer I ended up finding homes for our two (we thought failed) foster Chihuahua's Lacey and Osha. They both went to great forever homes that suited both of them perfectly. I still get email updates from both of their new owners.
We also lost our Pomeranian "Honey" (neglected neighbor rescue) to old age and complications with a seizure disorder. She was 13 and got to at least have 3 years of love and pampering before she passed.
And then there was two...Morrison and Fae. I could tell Fae was missing having dogs her own size to play with. And I figured one day I would find the right companion for her.
Well fast forward a month and a friend of mine tells me about her friend who was in the process of rehoming her 5 dogs. Long story short the girl found out she was pregnant with twins and already had two young children. So she knew she could not afford to keep her dogs.
At first I was only told about two male Toy Fox Terriers (a breed I always wanted to own). But was told that they HAD to be rehomed together because both had anxiety issues when seperated. I told the girl I was sorry I would have to pass. After having two fosters with issues I was not looking to get into that whole roller coaster ride again.
That evening the owner ended up texting me out of the blue asking if I would be interested in a 13 week old female Chihuahua/Toy Fox Terrier. Without hesitating I said "Hell yeah!" and without knowing what she looked like or how big she was I met up and picked up the tiniest puppy I had ever seen in my whole life.
It was like fate. I wasent looking for her. But Leia (technically Princess Leia
) has been the perfect addition to our family. She loves and plays with both Fae and Morrison. She is super people friendly, caught on to training like a dream, and loves long walks. Not an aggressive or anxious bone in her little body. She is smart and funny, and beautiful. I just love her.
And now here is a huge photo dump/update of her and my other lovely mutts.
