I have a 4 years old dog, she was getting loose stools about a months ago and sometimes, it is almost liquid, took her to the vet, found out her blood's protein level is very low at 29, vet said 54-75 is normal. went back and forth with testing urine, stool for parasites, and other test from blood and all negative, just the low in protein from the blood. at first he suspects and tells me is liver failure.. but one weird thing is she is gaining weight which then he thinks is intestine infections

only suggestion from this vet was to take it one step further to scoping the dog which I don't have pet insurance and will cost me close to 2000 dollars,

he hasn't found out the cause up to this date and hasn't give me any medication and antibiotics which I want to try because I suspect my dog ate something wrong while it was being looked after for a week by someone that might of fed it some chocolate or other human food.

Dr said this is not cause from human or any type of foods that case this but don't know the exact cause yet.. suspect is intestine infection and get it scope by another Dr which has the equipment.

Any suggestions on what to do before I take this step.. I really want to try something else before I spend $2000 on just finding out what is wrong and maybe even more later on treating it.

Thanks for reading and hope you can help us out with suggestion and answers

I would contact a holistic Vet. If there are liver problems Milk Thistle is a great liver support herb. Of course check with a holistic vet first.
