Hey Guys, it's been quite a while since I posted an update. A couple months ago my roommate got a "purebred" black German Shepherd puppy at 3 months or so. We got it vaccinated right away! And then it started sinking in that there was another dog.

It's great. I love it. He sleeps through the night right next to my bed. He plays fetch with the utmost enthousiasm(although he's not much good at it, and I'm not much good at teaching him), he sleeps at my feet while I'm doing paperwork, he likes to run around in the irrigation ditches, he's great.

Some of you may remember that I was having trouble figuring out if I could keep a German Shepherd or a Dutch Shepherd exercised. I'm finding out that I can. Two ball fetch three times a day, swimming, running, it's not that difficult to tire this dog out. Which is really good news because I'm realizing something...

Life isn't nearly as much fun without a smiling shepherd. I think I've discovered the kind of dog for me. A smiley shepherd. I'm becoming more certain that I'll have to adopt one when I go home(I'm currently doing volunteer service in Egypt) and get situated. Maybe I'll post pics later.

Thanks for reading.

I am with you 100%. I had a GSD as a child (got him when I was 4 and had him until 19!) and I have one now. They just make life better. Don't know how else to explain it.
