I have always had a passion for snakes. What can I say? I love them!! I found an add in the paper that Petco was having a sale on baby Corn Snakes, so I set up a ten gallon and picked one up. This is my first snake, but I have cared for other peoples snake before and have had no problem. I proudly introduce to you....

Simon!

Simon is a little Amelanistic Corn Snake, which means that he is a red albino not carrying any black pigment. He's really sweet and is currently eating fuzzies every thursday :)

aint he cute?

Right now Simon is in a 10 gallon tank I purchased at Wal*Mart. When he grows bigger, I have a large 25 gallon snake tank (Friend gave me) that he will be put in. For now, this size is fine. He has a nice big water dish, hidy hole, and heat pad. I don't know for sure if Simon is a boy, I would have to go get him probed at Reptile World, so for now, I'm just guessing he's a boy. I'm hoping this will open up the world of reptiles to me, I'm aiming for a boa or python soon :) So, do you have any snakes? if no, why not? if so, show us some pictures of your baby/babies.

What a pretty snake! I used to be scared to death of snakes but because I didn't want to have my kids scared too I've forced myself to surf snake sites on the web and look at snakes in pet shops.

I did too good a job now my 8 year old son is desperate for a pet snake!!!!!

I've told him we will think about him having one when he's 13. He's so used to looking after dogs, cats, hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, goldfish and sea monkeys I'm sure that with support he will be responsible enough to care for a corn snake then. Plus it will give me time to work up to actually holding one rather than just looking a pretty pictures lol

So, do you have any snakes?
No, hmph!
if no, why not?
Because I don't have the space or the money and my mom hates me!

I do however frequently spend time with my Bio teacher's snakes (an albino cornsnake, a ghost cornsnake, and a ball python), he also has Oriental firebellied toads, a bearded dragon, hissing cockroaches, a pink toed turantula, and a white's tree frog :D

Corn snakes are great pets! Congrats on the new addition! =)

I LOVE snakes! I currently have a red tail boa (or normal BCI) Hes name is Steve because I got him only 3 days after the Steve Irwin accident. He's a great boy and is already over 4 feet! I swear now half of him wouldn't probably fit in the box I bought him in!

Here's some older pics..Sorry I don't have any current ones!

This was one of the first pics of him, sorry it's so blurry. For size comparasine (sp?) that mouse he's tangles in is about the size of 2 quarters!

Another one I took when he was pretty small..

Here's one of the more recent pics of him, not VERY recent, but more then the other ones..I can't wait till it gets warmer outside so I can take him out there again!

Now that is NOT Steve! and this pic was taken a looong time ago! I was like 11-12(one in the blue)..and I'm 16 now..That is a 6ft female BCC and is beautiful! just look at her saddles!

What a cutie you have iheartsammy! I actually wanted a ball python, but I decided I would start off with a corn and get a ball when I was more... experienced. Oh, I also renamed Simon, Phyceos. Lol

I had a female ball python when I was in college for a short time. She was sick when I got her and ended up getting mouth rot and died :( She was fun though. My DH hates snakes so I can't get anymore. Have fun with your new friend :)

I've had snakes (and geckos, bearded dragons, tree frogs, skinks, and an array of turtles) in the past but currently only own on cranky turtle. I just don't have the time or space (plus I have an insane puppy that would likely destroy all of my setups) to own anything other than the turtle right now.

My last snake was a rehab case. A northern water snake. You don't even want to know how many times that little &**(#)# bit me!!

In the future, I hope to get a bigger house so I can have a herp room again. Then, bring on the scalies. :)

I'm becomming increasing interested in getting a snake... but if I got one I'd be thoroughly killed by my mom (yes... 23 and still living at home *cries*). Though if there was some way to hide a small one under ones bed? Hmmmm... LOL JK.
