You have some beautiful dogs!
Please understand we're not trying to be overly harsh here; it's all out of concern for the well-being of your dogs. Neither of your furkids are ready to be bred, and the combination of a young, fine-boned Saluki with an already impressively sized Rottie could have dire, if not fatal consequences. Males can be very persistant, to the point of jumping through glass windows or digging through drywall to get to a female in heat. Ask around the board and listen to some the stories from others who have "been there, done that!"
It is possible to keep two opposites intact around each other, but it takes an incredible amount of diligence and coordination, the extent of which most people (probably including myself, but I've never tried) don't possess.
It's up to you which of your dogs you want to keep intact, there are massive pros and cons to each. Spaying your Saluki girl will mean you don't have to worry about mammary cancer, pyometra and just the mess that go along with heats.
Neutering your male will ensure that he doesn't try to bust out of your house to get to other females in heat (they can smell them up to like 2 miles away). It will also increase your chances of having a managable Rottie, as intact male Rotties can be a force of nature in and of themselves. It takes a firm but loving hand and LOTS of training. Also, it will prevent testicular/prostate cancer.
Good luck!
