Hi,
This might sound dumb but do you think that dogs can see/hear things that we can't???
The reason why i asked this is because my pup pebbles barks at things for no reason. One time i was in my room getting ready for bed and all of a sudden she wouldn't stop barking and i mean barking!
I offered her treats, cuddled her, took her to the toilet but she wouldn't stop. She kept going back to my room and barking. She's a healthy chihuahua and she doesn't always do this but im just curious.
Also when ever she sees a fly or flying bug she trys to eat it.She chases it and jumps in the air but she never gets it.Its cute but is that normal?
sorry if i sound dumb i just want to see if its normal and if a lot of dogs do it or if its her character.I love her and i want everything to be ok.i have no problem with it,i just need some advice.
Thanks
Candace

Pefectly normal. I know many bug chasing dogs! As for the barking, dogs hear things that are a lot more quite then we are able to detect, their hearing is way better than ours as are their other senses. They can detect vibrations before we can, smell something before we can and see movement before we detect it. All these heightened senses cause dogs to act a bit nutty on occasion.

Ah, man, Jester does the same thing! He's an ace when it comes to fly catching. And he does the random bark all the time. Of course, he probably is barking at something, but I'm not good enough to see/hear it. Your doggie's a normal pooch! And cute!!!
