I ran into that with Malcolm about 5 yrs ago on his leg. We determined it was a deep pyoderma and treated with Mupirocin ointment and it got better pretty quick. We tried Baytril and Keflex first, neither of which worked. I found out about the ointment in the Merck Manual.
