I figure I'm being too paranoid, but here goes. When I first adopted Cupid last November, he had a huge bladder stone that had to be surgically removed. After he recovered, he was Mr. Energetic, and he would rarely sleep in the evenings when I got home from work (though he slept fine at night). And he'd take maybe a 20 minute nap or two on weekends when I was around all day. I figured I just had a high-energy dog who didn't need or want to nap much.
Now it's nine months later, and Cupid still has plenty of energy, but he also takes plenty of naps. It's a little weird to me because even though it seems like typical doggy behavior, it's much different than it used to be.
So is it normal for a dog who didn't really nap much (when I was around) to start napping more? Could it be that he's settled in and feels more comfortable? Or wears himself out more since the second dog came along (in April)?
I had a urinalysis done a few months ago to see how things were going, and he's crystal free. And he's 2-1/2 years old, if that info is helpful. My friend tells me I "shouldn't complain," and I'm not complaining, really. I just want to make sure he's all right, given his previous health issues.
