Ok so today I went to the door to let Zoe in from the backyard. I stepped out and she was acting like she was going to throw up for a while. So I came in to call Justin to see if he knew what I should do. Well she threw up, but it was just grass. After wards she is running around and acting fine.

Now I haven't fed her yet today. I was fixing to when she got sick. So I dont know if I should feed her yet or not? And should I feed her less than usual?

The main reason this is worrying me is because a couple weeks ago she got sick one night, and then just a couple nights ago she got sick. Both those times she threw up her food.

Could she be sick? She eats normally, drinks, acts normal.

We are taking Buddy into the vet Friday to get neutered, so I was going to tell him then. The first time a couple weeks ago I took her in the next day for an ear infection. I told him she got sick and he said it wasn't nothing to worry about.

So I just want to know what I should do about feeding her, and if she could be sick? Or just for some reason has an upset stomach?

Sorry, I was in the middle of a reply earlier and had to dash out the door.

I would not feed her tonight and pull water for 12 hours as well. It might just be an upset tummy. Some dogs vomit because they are hungry or they eat too fast...I know a couple of dogs that throw up when they drink water after a meal, because it's usually the entire bowl of water in 30 seconds.

When was the last time she was wormed for tapeworms and the like?

Well no one had replied so I went ahead and fed her, but less than her usual amount, because she acted like she was starving. Should I still take up the water?

She hasnt had dewormers from the vet since she was a pup. She gets Heartguard once a month and I gave her that last Wednesday.

Today she hadnt had anything to eat but apparently grass when she got sick. The other times it was several hours after she had eaten that she got sick.

She is being her usual self. She was running around with her toy wanting to play a little bit ago.

I would at least get her checked...I know that when Aubrey suddenly started to throw up, it was really odd and random like, but she had quite a few different worms in her system. Easy enough to take care of though.

Yeah, go ahead and take up the water just as a precaution.

Do I need to take a fecal sample to get it tested for worms? I just took her to the vet 2 weeks ago, so Im not looking forward to paying for another appointment so soon. Especially cuz we are getting Buddy fixed on Friday, but if I need to I will, but I wonder if I can just get that test done without having to take her in.

I have heard that licking their paws is a sign they have allergies? Zoe does lick her paws sometimes could she be sick cuz she is allergic to something?

If it's a constant licking/chewing and there's redness and/or swelling on their pads or in between the toes, then it might be allergies. Otherwise it's probably just normal grooming.

Most vets usually like a fresh fecal sample to test for so they don't have to restrain and get one themselves. You could always just keep an eye on her stools and see if you see anything wriggling around or white things that look like grains of rice. Then you would know for sure.

I haven't seen anything in her stools. I will look closely tomorrow.

Her paws also don't look red or swollen.

and thanks for the help :)

Unfornately, some parasites or bacteria can't be detected by the human eye in stools, and repeated stool samples may be required by the vet.

It's good that you're keeping a close eye on her. Please keep us posted.
