Ipod help

Anyone with an ipod thaat will help me ot? My computer doesn't seem to recognize it.

I figured someone would ask that. Well I plug my ipod into my computer and itunes doesn't recognize that I put something in. My USB thing does though. I recently switched from one computer to another but my computer would recognize it at first, now it won't. I downloaded this pod updater which i thought would help but it either says there isnt an ipod in, firmware update failure/ disc error and it said something else last time but I forgot.

I went there and it had problems. I have the video ipod and windows xp i believe.

K I will try those when I Can but I had to switch computers so I can't know because my other one is having problems other than the ipod. Thanks for the help, I hope those links help.
