I use Arm and Hammer super scoop. I used Fresh Step but the perfume was awful IMO for me and kitty. Then I went to a non-clumping but Urine built up quickly in the bottom (since you can't scoop pee) and the ammonia smell really got to me and I didn't like the idea of pee sitting in there so I went to cat's pride. It didn't control odors very well and did not clump as hard as I'd like. So now I use the Arm and Hammer super scoop, no scent, and it is great.

As for raw feeding, I am not a fan of pre-made just because of price and because a lot of companies add fruits and veggies etc. It's still better than dry food though.
I like the prey model raw diet. Throughout one week your cat's diet should consist of ABOUT 80% meat 10% bone (though you can do less depending on how your cat handles the bone, if he gets constipated feed less bone, some people only do 3-5%), 5% liver and 5% non-liver organ. This is over a week because you don't feed all those things every day. Some days you'll feed just meat with no bone or organs and some days just a raw meaty bone but everything should been in the diet in a week.

Most people recommend you start off by feeding about 2% of your cat's body weight a day (in ounces) and then adjust as necessary with your cat's hunger and weight.

Am I the only one who completely cleans the litter box every day? I throw out all litter then scrub the box out.
I wish I had the money to throw litter out and refill on a daily basis. It gets so costly, even when entirely changing out the box at the end of each week.

Honestly, we used clumping litter for a long time and no one was ever sick from it either... but there was a former poster who explained how bad it was and what it could do to the cats... so we ended up switching as a precaution.
Which litter do you use now?

I went through a whole slew of different kinds and types of litter (both clumping and non-clumping) and then finally settled on Yesterday's News because it doesn't track all over the place. However, YN went up in price a bit recently and so now I use the cheaper version of newspaper pellets, Good Mews.

I have one litter box for 2 cats. We clean it out in the morning and then at night.

They both eat California Natural. Salmon & sweet potato canned and Herring & sweet potato dry.

I think I still have 10 pounds of cat's pride clay litter in the bucket. Maybe I should put it on ebay :rofl1:

Inky is on wet food (primarily Evo and Wellness as they are the only ones I can get in the big [read: cheaper] cans around here) and he gets 5-10 little bitty Evo kibbles with his dinner meal. He usually craps twice a day, right after eating dinner and then in the wee hours of the morning. I know because the little box is right outside of me room and he insists on being LOUD. :lol-sign:

I don't put a lot of cat litter in her box. I put newspaper in the bottom. I don't find that I go through a lot of cat litter at all.

Maybe I have a different defenition of a lot of cat litter than most folk.

i use big plastic storage bins for litterboxes. it helps keep the litter contained with happy diggers. i've got five cats. they pee a lot. i use clumping litter. usually arm and hammer though i'll buy another brand and mix it in if it's cheaper. i suck at cat box upkeep so we won't talk about how often i scoop :p

I'd like to ask... how large are your cats approximately? How large are your litter boxes - approximate measurements would be good.
Sorry I missed your question before....

My guys are a good size, not fat (Well Nuts a teeny bit right now) but very solid... Nuts weighs about 12 lbs, Bolts 10 lbs. Nuts is 5, Bolts a baby at 8 months, he is going to be a big boy because he is even a tad slender right now...

The Boxes are both different, one is about 19" by 15" and the other is a dome shaped one, not sure the size but its very roomy....
