****I should probably add that yes I know, getting stray dogs of any breed is very dangerous, I wouldn't of done this if they didn't seem so friendly and I didn't feel so bad for them or worry for their safety****

I'm so upset right now! I'm pissed off at not only the ignorance of people here, but at the ignorance of the animal control officer! *sigh*

So, this is a long story, but bear with me. I'm a bit cranky and tired.

I got a ride home from a co-worker and when she stopped in front of my house to let me out we see two APBT looking dogs (I'm not positibe what they where, but they looked very APBT. What a APBT is suppose to look like, not the big bulky crap! They were sleek, muscled, but not bulging hippo's lol. Looks a lot like the member's dog Loki in body type!) running down the street right towards us. One was a blue and white color and the other a tan/red and white. They looked pure, one was cropped (red and white), one was natural eared (blue and white).

Anyways, the person I got a ride from says "Oh don't get out! I don't want to see you get bitten" Which ok, caution with strange dogs is definitely a good idea!

I looked at the dogs, one was a little scared of the giant (GIANT) truck we where in and the other ran to the door where the window was down wagging the entire butt, body screamed submissive, and was whining and trying to do the stretching tongue act. lol

Anyways, I said they seemed friendly, but the gal locked the doors told me to stay in cause she didn't want to see those monsters kill me. *Arg*

They continued to run past us down the road towards the busy road! So she let me out and I got out. Now I don't have a death wish, and I don't like pain, so I wasn't about to call those dogs to me without knowing they where friendly. I usually get the dogs to come up to the fence or my car. But these dogs had just come from where there are about 10 people working on building a house across the street trying to get attention, only to be shoo'ed and kicked at. If they where looking to attack anything they would've done so already. So I was pretty darn sure they where friendly.

I ran in the house, grabbed a few of those little leashes I got from the shelter and grabbed some chicken breasts that where left over in the fridge.

So I go outside walk down the street a bit with leashes and all and this black car pulls up to me and rolls their window down. Inside are two ladies, one old, the other mid-life. Both looked nasty as hell. BUT...

They asked if the dogs where mine, I said no. The one older lady was on her phones and she starts saying "YES there are two PIT BULLS running around loose in the street and there are CHILDREN AROUND!" like it was some horror show. OMG please! The dogs weren't harming aynthing at all!

She continued to say "I don't know if they are viscious but those monsters are probably going to kill a child if you don't do something" I said, they seemed very friendly and she puts her hand up in my face and goes "SHOOSH!" loudly and both gave me a disguisted look.

As I started to storm off to get in my car, I heard "I hope you kill those monsters" before I drove off and said mean things under my breath. *innocent*

Anyways! I didn't really go far down the road unfortunately. The dogs saw me as I whistled a bit from the safety of my car. <<<Again, don't like pain just in case.

They came up to my car, body language was again VERY happy, exhausted and a bit submissive. So I rolled the window down just a bit and the one blue and white tried licking my hand through the window.

Both where very friendly, the female blue/white one was more outgoing, but her partner decided to trust me as soon as he realized the car wasn't going to kill him.

I started walking them on leash back to my house, parked my car on the side of the road, when the animal control came over. This is 15 mins about after the lady called the cops.

See how fast the get here for a "pit bull" that didn't harm a soul but they don't even show up for the two small, black dogs that ACTUALLY ATTACKED ME AND LUCAS!!! *arg....*

Anyways the sad part, is animal control, black car and ladies in their car right outside giving me evil looks, demanded I relinquish the monsters before they attack me! And then after I very unwillingly gave the dogs to the officer (who put a catch poll around their necks when a leash would've done fine!) I got a very idiotic speech of what a dangerous, irrisponsible, foolish thing I've done. How I could've been seriously attacked by these "monsters" and that I should NEVER EVER do that agin, and a "Do you hear me!?" for good measure.

Idiot.

I couldn't think of anyone that owned these dogs that lived here at first, but I remembered just after the ACO left. They are show dogs! I went to the house to see if they where missing their dogs cause I've seen them in their yard with the dogs on occasion. I think it's the right dogs.....

I went to their house, but no one was home. I left a sign under their door saying their dogs may be at the shelter. Hopefully it's their dogs, if not I'm sure it won't do any harm to have left that. It didn't say what the dogs looked like or anything. We will see I guess.

So I'm mad. Idiots all around me!! *Sigh* These dogs where right around people before I got them, tried to get attention and loves, seemed exhausted and it's a hot day and all they could think was what "monsters" they where.

I'm REALLY worried about a BSL soon. :( With the two "pit bull" dogs that attacked the JRT and lady just a few days ago. I'm very VERY WORRIED.

I really wish I could've hid from the ACO and kept the dogs, they seemed very friendly. Even if the owners weren't the people I thought, there are a few very good pit rescues here! I'm sure I could've helped them somehow. Now I'm afraid they may be PTS :(

I'm hoping that they are the right people! I'm not positive those are the right dogs :( But they where very sweet while I had them, not that I had them long though lol

People are just so stupid!

I'm feel so bad for all owners of "Pit Bull" type dogs or anything that looks remotely similair to these breeds. All the ignorance....it's crazy. I've never really dealt with this much. I've had comments about "pit bulls" thorwn at me, but never to this level. It's a horrible feeling.

I hope that in time there will be something that can be done about the stigma attached to those breeds. I've never had any problems APBT's ever. I have with other dogs though. It's so tough...we need to somehow fix this problem. Poor dogs!!!!!!!!:(

OMG :( Can you call the HS to see how they are doing?? Or go down and visit?
Calling them won't help a thing I'm sure.

I can definitely go down to see if I can see them though! Not today, but tomorrow. :)

I'm pretty much going to stop going to the shelter now. Not because of this, but because I'm getting sick of that place. Not the animals at all! Just the people.

Too bad I didn't help them at all! :( *sigh* I really wish I would've been able to at least look for the owner and see if it was who I was thinking of! :(
