humping stage??

did your puppy go through a humping stage?

mine is about 81/2 months old and last month she decided she really REALLY liked humping my leg... or my back if i'm on my knees ( ahhhhh!)

it must be developmental....

what do you think?

well, I don't remeber when my dog was a puppy because I was really young, but my old neighbor recently got a puppy and he humped everything in site! I think that this is a pretty normal life stage.

Charlie is an avid humper of other dogs, but he's never humped people (thank god!!!). Right now he's 5 1/2 months old.

humping is a dominant act...she is at the right age to challenge your position in the "pack", so i would discourage it.

I agree. Humping is done for dominance, not just a sexual "thing". You need to discourage it and regain dominance over your dog before problems develop.

my harley humps things but only this really old stuffed dog toy tht we have in the spare room!, thts the only thing he humps!
he tried to do it to me once but i just made him sit, so he realised i was in control

NO malakai hasnt..and i am very thankful for that..(could you imagine a 140lb dog humping your leg..kind of scary when you think of it )..like everyone else is saying, you really need to discourage the behavior
