They are taking in a bunch of the animals from the hurricane, but these animals all have families, they are housing them for them. They need food, collars, towels, etc. to help care for them. My boss just gave me $50 to go get some food, and I am going to buy some too and take it over there today. Wasn’t that nice? I also may see if they have any cheap towels at Wal-mart or something too.

They also are going to eventually get a lot of the strays from there. But that won’t be for a little while. This is all so sad. :( I am so glad they are helping though. If we all do a little then it will really help.

I'd love to donate to help out the animals. I have been so worried about the animals left to defend for theirself. I wonder how many were left tied up or in pens outside. Hard to believe with all the people who took shelter at a shelter when the hurricane hit no one would have had pets left at home. I seen one shot of a dog sitting on a car, wet, and water all around the car. It looked like they was going to rescue it. So sad. The people had a chance to escape, what chance did the animals have. They were dependent on their owners to see to it they was safe.

I was so annoyed and upset by the people who TIED their animals to porches. What chance do the animals have if they are tied up. They could have drowned that way. At least if they are not tied up, they may be able to swim to safety.

Even the ones left in their homes. How many got trapped inside, the house filling up with water and no where for the dogs or cats to go. I couldnt do it. I guess I'd be one to stay with my pet if I couldnt take them with me.
