My boyfriend wants to know what is a recommended amount of kibble to feed a 90 lb dog?

Depends on age, how often and how heavily he's exercised, whether he is an indoor or outdoor dog and how much time he spends outside when it's really cold and a number of other factors.

Yeah I agree with Mordy. It's probably best to ask your vet since he/she has your dog's health history and they'll probably have the best advice for you.

Most vets aren't really well educated in nutrition, unless they have done their own research they mainly just know what the pet food companies tell them.

I do have the data available for calculating estimated caloric requirements, but I can't do that without detailed info about the individual dog. :)

Makenzie is a husky mix, last time weighed 86 lbs, he is outdoor/indoor. He spends most of his time outside though cuz he doesnt like to be inside so much. And he has lots of room to run.

Is 90 pounds his ideal weight or does he need to lose/gain some?

If his weight is okay, and he is fully grown, he would need around 1,700 kcal per day if the weather isn't cold and he sleeps indoors. This is just an estimate though, since you didn't mention how much he is exercised. Does he just get run of the yard or is he also otherwise exercised?

Fran, calories are calories. :) The amount you feed will differ depending on its caloric content, but the overall need of the dog doesn't change based on the food.
