baily has a light eye infection. the vet gave me a little tube of ointment.
he said i need to put a small amount in his eyes twice a day for the next 10 days....

well when i came home i realized.........that i have NO CLUE how....

i know baily wont like it and not stay still nicely for me to begin with. i gave him eye drops before and he was less then amused......
but thats only the beginning.
i dont really know how to start this
do i put it on my finger and then rub it into his eye? or simply from the tube
and how much is a "small amount" anyway?

has anybody every had to do this and can explain it to me or give me some tipps?

any help is really appreciated!

hold his head as still as possible (having someone else hold him is even better), then run a thin line of ointment along bottom of his eye along the 'lash' line. then massage the ointment in by gently closing his eye and rubbing. I had to put ointment in Ham's eye recently. he didn't like it the first day, but then got so used to it that I didn't even have to hold his head. :)

Hold his eye open with a hand over the top of his head and put a small squeeze into the corner of his eye, when he closes it just gently rub/stroke the lid and that will disperse it well enough. The ointment usually isn't too bothersome.
