my aunt bought a bag of this powder called greensense diatomaceous earth. it supposed to be mixed with water and sprayed in your garden. its composed of fossilized skeletons of tiny aquatic organisms and the tiny razor sharp edges scratch the exoskeleton on insects causing them to die.

well my aunt bought it and sprinkled it around her dogs' beds and the floor or wherever the dogs will be around the most. its supposed to help with fleas or ticks or whatever kinda pests are around dogs, i really dont know. she said its safe and wont harm the dogs if its eaten.

has anybody had any experience or info about this because we just bought a bag and i wanted to get some info before trying it out.

DE works well to kill fleas, ticks and other bugs but you do have to be careful how you apply it. You shouldn't breathe the stuff in but once it has settled it is harmless. Many people use it on their pets by taking a little bit and slowly rubbing it in the fur with two fingers. It isn't applied like flea/tick medications as a preventative. It won't prevent fleas or ticks, but it will kill 'em if your dog has 'em.

NEVER use pool grade DE on your dog!
