Grace is our Minature Schnauzer we adopted about 3 years ago. I had her out for a walk yesterday, on leash, and the neighbor and his Pom were out so I immediately changed our route to be walking away from them. The Pom is a male and very aggressive. He and Grace met before, while on neutral territory and Grace became very submissive which placated him and no growls were uttered. Well, this time we were in Grace's yard and he came strutting up (off leash as usual) to Grace. Her stance told me this time was different- tall stance, no tail wag and him with the same body language. All of a sudden growls and contact between them. I pulled Grace away and the little dickens started comming after her ( he is 1/2 her size if you dont count all of his hair, LOL.) Luckily I had Pet Correct in my pocket and sprayed it and the noise distracted him. I then hear his owner yealling " Get back over here. I am going to punch you in the head! (ugh). He doesnt need a punch, Jerk. he needs a leash and some manners. I guess Grace is not as submissive as I thought.
