All of the websites found through Google Search were labeled as "This site may harm your computer." and could not be accessed this morning and it lasted for about 30-40 minutes. So if you saw this message, don't worry, not all of those sites are harmful. :) They are saying that some company Google does business with that reports scam or phishing sites was hacked and this affected Google Search.

Huh, I've never even seen that before in normal browsing mode.

But I guess it's good to know that Google itself won't harm my computer, much less news about Google.

It depends on what you were searching for. I've seen a couple phishing warnings before for some sites, and they were not your standard warez or porn sites but sites that would imitate other sites. Visiting such sites can either put a virus on your PC, or would ask you to provide private user info even if the product they offered was supposed to be free. They are just there to harm your machine or steal your personal info, not to provide anything useful to anyone. They always come and go since once they are detected, they get banned from all search engines.

I use the browser Opera and had no problems at all. I did read about it. How many people still use Internet Explorer, I wonder? I'm always surprised that people still use it...

It had nothing to do with your browser, although IE is known for its security issues. But when you think about it, around 70% use IE, so no wonder hackers try to exploit it. Internet Explorer is do darn popular! It is a victim of its own popularity. :lol-sign:
