There are plenty of ways to go the breeder route and still be involved in rescue. I foster and donate time/money to my local greyhound group. My next dog will probably also be a breeder dog. I just loved the experience with Kili, and when you're looking for an agility dog within the sighthounds... well that can be difficult!

I've gotten dogs from various places and I love and have loved them all. Private rehome, retired racing greyhound, oops litter, rescue, breeder...

I think the dog is the thing, not where it came from. Get a dog that matches you and you are confident will be with you for the rest of its life, and you won't be part of the problem. Because if everyone did that, there would be few dogs in rescue in the first place.

I struggle with this to some degree but I'm very willing to support a responsible breeder. And I'll always stay involved in rescue to some degree.
