Girlfriend just lost 2nd dog

My girlfriend loved 3 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and bought her first almost 10 years ago. Then she bought another one a year later and another a year after that. About 5 weeks ago, Copper, the oldest passed away. She found him laying in blood on the floor from some kind of internal bleeding. It was so sudden. I just got a call a few minutes ago that Freckles must have had a heart attack (was having some heart problems) and found him in the kitchen; he was 9 years old. She now has only her little girl left, Lady. I feel so at a loss of words. I met each dog as she brought them home. They all slept together at night and now Lady is by herself. She only got used to the loss of the first dog and now is all alone. To lose a dog is heartbreaking, but to lose 2 in a short period of time is worse. I just pray Lady hangs in there and adjusts to not having the boys around anymore. Copper & Freckles will both be missed.

I bet Freckles died from a broken heart. Alot of old couples die very close to each other because of the stress. I hope Lady will adjust and overcome the heartache. I certainly will be sending good thoughts their way.

Julie... this has haunted me for years.... my dear Bubba died the morning after Elin and I went on our 1st trip. Was at the window waiting for me. I've never gotten over it.

Don't blame yourself. Nobody can ever predict the future. I am sure Bubba had a great life, and nothing to second guess.
It was probably just his time, regardless.
