this is occurring to me kinda late...but my bf's sis just bought a new house (about a month ago)...

I figured I could suck up a bit (hehe) & get her a little house-warming gift. She is 27...

I just wanna get something little...I've met her a few times & we get along pretty well, but its not like we are all that close. I'd also have to send it, so nothing too big/heavy I guess...

I've obviously never seen the house, but also know that she has more of a country style, whereas I am more modern.

So anyone have any good, inexpensive ideas of something just to express my "congrats on buying a new house" without giving her something she prob already has (I can try asking my bf, but i doubt he would know)...or something she would never use?

My sis gave me a butter dish full of random screws, nails, bolts and such. That was HEAVEN as a new home owner. What about picture hanging stuff or a few "don't think about it til you need it stuff" like duct tape, one of those hair clog remover zipper things, lock graphite and such?

easy and lightweight for mailing is a couple really pretty small guest towels, or even dish towels. if she loves country, there are some unique homespun kitchen towels online that are sooo adorable. small country pillows with a homey saying stitched on, in neutral colors if you're not sure. if you're certain her style is country, then check out some online stores...TONS of ideas for small, yet wonderful home items.

ooh dish towels or hand towels are a good idea!

Gena - those are def some good ideas...my cuz did something similar for my "off to college" gift. I'd feel kinda weird sending stuff like that tho since we aren't all that close!!

Also, candles or any kind of "scent" related things are always nice as a house gift too :)
