After digging a lot trying to find a good breeder here in Alabama, I found one that has an upcoming litter of all reds.(I would like a red merel). They have awards from herding trials, and all was looking OK other than I could't find anything on health tests so I thaught I would call. But I kept looking at their site, and the red merel I believe is the sire of the litter apparently has two mereld parents if I read the site correctly. Pictures of his parents are there (although both have passed) and one looks to be red merel. It is a picture from a bit of a distance, but does appear to be red merel, with the other a blue merel. If I am seeing and understanding what I am seeing correctly, I'm not even going to bother calling. They also say the litter is here, and the next page says "planned". Their site is ricochetfarms.com. Do ya'll understand it the same way I am? If so, its a "never mind" for sure.

Ok, that site was all kinds of confusing... and my head hurts now just trying to figure out who they're breeding... sorry, but I can't look at that page anymore without my head exploding.

They've got some of the big name kennels but I've not heard much about the dogs they have from those kennels. I don't know that I would bother much.

Have you checked out Pincie Creek Aussies? They're in Dothan, Alabama.

Pincie Creek are pretty hardcore working dogs though. IIRC, the OP isn't wanting that intense of a dog. Take a look at Red Earth Aussies, also in AL. She just had a litter of all red tris, though I'm not sure how many are still available. They're primarily ASCA confo, but she keeps the brains going as well.

Thanks Zoom! Yea, I have seen Pincie Creek, and they are hard working. And you are right, I want an active dog but not quite to that extent. I havn't heard of Red Earth Aussies, but I will check them out.
