Found a new button in my laptop and I think I broke something

I found a new button on the side of my laptop so I pressed it and a little square thing cam out. It has two square holes in it and it looks like a little ladder with two steps. Problem is, it won't go back in. What do I do?

I have the same thing on my lap top...just push the ladder thing back in and keep the little square thing sticking out like that. That's what I did.

Would there happen to be 2 little doors right beside the button that are not very wide but are long?

There are two, one is long and one is just a tiny square

Well push the ladder thing back in, and the square thing should come out.

But it won't go back in Like there's something stuck that keeps it from going back

I never found anything like that on my dad's laptop.And I just noticed I'm typing without really looking at the keyboard...hmmmmm cool!
