What is it you are wanting to know about both of them?

All I really know about Waco is that it is the half way point b/w Fort Worth and Austin and that Baylor College is there. I don't think it is a tiny town and I know they have a lot, but not as much as DFW which is a pretty good sized metroplex in my opinion.

I live in Fort Worth which is less than an hour from Dallas, in good traffic, and Dallas probably has everything you could imagine. There is also a ton of traffic. Are you living in one place and looking for something to do or are you trying to decide which city to live in?

I lurk a lot but don't post a ton. Sorry, if you have already explained.

I'm from Texas, but sorry I'm not much help in the Dallas/Waco area. I have only been there once and through there a few times. The only things I know around are 6 Flags and Texas Motor Speedway.

I live in fort worth also, and go to both Waco/Dallas often. I honestly dislike Dallas ALOT. The traffic, the hustle bustle life style just really turns me off because Ft Worth is pretty low key, atleast in my area.

As far as Waco, its def. more "hicky" and I myself enjoy going there more. Of course I dont spend as much time as its mostly for thier yearly dog show, but what i know of it I enjoy.

And Angie, Im right here!

Arlington HOLLA!

Right in the middle of it all. My DH went to school down Waco way...it's the home of LT, people...give it some cred.

And also...remember Steve Martin doing the Waco skyline? *MIDDLE FINGER!* LMAO...

I would have to agree with Ryan or Sunnierhawk0 that I prefer Fort Worth as well. It is kind of funny to me actually. People who don't live here think they are one in the same b/c it is often referred to as DFW but they are actually very different. Dallas and Fort Worth both have a TON to offer. But as Ryan said, Fort Worth is much more low key and a lot more relaxed. The ONLY time I venture to Dallas is to visit someone or if there is a very specific store I want to visit...or CPE of course. Otherwise, I can find everything I need in Fort Worth, close to home and with less hassle. And as Gina noted, Arlington is smack dab in the middle and actually has a lot to offer as well and is growing daily...the Texas Rangers are there and the Dallas Cowboys will be there in the next couple years....all the more reason people refer to the whole thing as DFW. lol

About 30 minutes North of Waco is the Hillsboro Outlet mall...that is one of my favorite stops when I go b/w Fort Worth and Austin. There is also one in Roundrock I believe which is just North of Austin and a little further from Waco. They have an IKEA there too. I have never stopped there so for the stores I go to...(usually the Gap Outlet and that's it b/c I have the dogs) I usually prefer the outlet store in Hillsboro b/c there is less traffic, less people and it is only about an hour from home. Plus they have a good bathroom for me to use.

I'm currently in Mannsfield, which is smack dab in the middle of DFW along with Arlington.

I have cousins who live in Waco and me personally, I live an hour or so from Waco in College Station. Anything you wanna know?

haha boney,

My mother has to stop at that outlet mall every time we pass thru or on our way back. And I also have to laugh because thats my motto with Dallas, we only go if we need to go to a specific store for something.

GO, my brothers and father live in Mansfield, nice town.

What do you want to know about Dallas? I have lived in Dallas most of my life. It's definitely bustling and has a ton of shopping. Other than that, it's kind of ugly in my opinion. Not very natured orientated. Austin, on the other hand is about 1 hour from Waco and it's very laid back and outdoorsy. I think Austin is much prettier! Dallas has a lot to offer, just depends on what you're looking for.
