So, next month marks 5 years since Molly passed away... and I decided to get a little weird and have a charm made with some of her ashes.

It came in the mail today and I'm really, really happy I got it. I can't get a picture to do it any justice. It's so pretty.

Has anyone else had something like this made or am I just a weirdo? :) I never used to see the appeal in this which I guess is why it took me 5 years to do it lol.

I haven't, but totally plan on a memorial tattoo with ashes infused into the ink after Em passes.

I don't have one yet, but when my dogs pass I absolutely plan to get something like this. Probably beads on a chain so I can just add to the necklace with each dog.

We don't have beads, but we ordered 2 necklaces for the kids. Michaels necklace will be turned into a keychain. I just have to figure out how to put the ashes in there.

It's not weird. I think it's a great idea!! We buried our first rottweiler's ashes under a japanese maple in our yard. I really regret not taking some of the ashes and making them into a piece of jewelry. :(

We buried one of our dogs (cremation wasn't an option) at the acreage my parents lived at then, I'm sad I don't have part of him so I get it.

Yeah...that's my problem that if we ever sell this house, I have to leave Sam behind. Lars' ashes I'll scatter at the ocean/beach down the road because that is his favorite place in the world. :) Then every time I see the water, I'll be with Lars. :)

I want to get a bio urn for the Shibas, and have something like this so they can always be together and I can always have a part of them. I always say I have my dad's big toe in my necklace charm lol.

My husband finds keeping ashes in the house creepy....he was the one who buried Sam when I wasn't home. I was a kind of upset with that...but whatever. In the big scheme of things...that was "small stuff".

If I did get a necklace with dog ashes in it...I would have omit the dog ashes part of the when I tell him about it. LOL

Hair jewelry

I'm interested in hair jewelry. You can find it in the same category as 'cremain jewelry' in Etsy. I am currently in talks with one jewelry maker.

I was inspired by horsehair bracelets but I have a short-haired dog.

Here is a gallery of pet hair jewelry.
