Turned out great. She checked out well, got all her shots and heartworm treatment, etc.
She weighed 23 pounds and doc thinks she will probably top off at 35-40 pounds when fully grown. He says she is about 4 & 1/2 months old and wants to put off paying for two months. I think that is cutting it a little close to her first heat. But he said if she does happen to go into heat, we can still go ahead and have it done.
I think I will breathe a big sigh of relief when it's finally done & over.
Cookie did pretty good in the lobby, but barked at the other dogs. She never barks, so this was new for both of us. It was like once she realized she could bark, she kept doing it. I finally got her to stop and she sat nicely at my feet, even when someone brought in a couple of cats.
One young girl brought in a very unruley GSD about 6 months old. She could not handle this dog! I got angry at her because her idea of making the dog behave was to slap her in the face when she jumped up, and then she would put her foot & leg on her back to force her to sit. No wonder the dog doesn't want to listen to her!
I was relieved when the lady at the front desk had a talk with her and told her that some would see her actions as animal cruelty. I hope it sunk in!
