I got offered a free riding lessons on a co-workers hoses. She said she has 3 horses, and 1 out of the three is very calm and easy to learn on. It would be free and I could go a few times a month, if not every weekend.

I'm not really afraid of falling off or anything, but I know nothing about horses!!!

IDK, I guess I'm worried I'll make a big fool out of myself! :p

If you where given the chance, would you take it?

I used to ride occasionally as a kid, but I'm way too allergic now to get closer than 10 feet from a horse.

I would definitely go---why worry about making a fool of yourself? Just let them know it's all new to you..and you will need some coaching. I'm sure they would want it to be successful for you!

I've been riding for quite a while now, and my horse is still quite capable of making me look like a fool:D . Believe me, anyone who spends much time around horses is going to be plenty humble, and not bothered by whatever mistakes you may make. Make sure you have a well-fitted helmet, and go on and do it!

I would do almost anything to ride on a calm hose again. I would muck stalls, worm, and brush if it ment an hour of riding a week.

Its hard to make yourself look like a fool around a good deal of horse people. Plus who cares what others think of you if you have fun.

yes! i only just got a chance this year for lessons. before that I was jumping on anything I was allowed on. Havn't fallen off yet but I had one pony try to get me of, scrubbed me under trees and past fences and stuff. lol
that was embarressing because a girl about 4 years younger than me had riden it up to where i was.

everyone has to learn sometime, and its fun!

Definitely do it! You won't regret it ;). After all, it is horseback riding lessons. So they'll be teaching you!

(Believe me, once you start, you'll never be able to stop :))

Do it! I'd take it (granted I've been riding all my life and have 7 horses, but still! everyone starts somewhere). Horse people aren't critical when it comes to making mistakes. We all do.

Have fun and don't worry about looking silly - anyone associated with horses looks silly at some point or other, it's the nature of the beast(ie). Lol! (My sister's old mare constantly made people look foolish, and the more experienced they were, the worse she treated them. I think it was a hobby of hers. Lol!)
Let us know how it goes! Do you know if you'll be riding english or western?
