As it's getting cooler out, I'd like to start leaving Mochi and Kena outside in their kennel/dog run.

What sort of precautions should I be taking to ensure that they don't escape? I would need to bury fencing along the perimeter of the run to ensure the don't dig out. It's huge, so patio stones on the inside aren't really an option.

What do you think the best way to do that would be? There's a good 80 feet to do, so I think I'm going to make some sort of contraption to slice down into the soil and push the fence into the slot, rather than dig and bury it. Something like a sheet of tin.

And how deep should I go down?

Also, the run doesn't have a cover. It's 6 feet high. My dogs have never been escape artists or fence jumpers, so I feel I don't have to worry about them climbing out, but when I said that to they guy I bought the kennels off of, he looked at me like I was crazy! LOL!

I'm really paranoid about this, but I think that they would much rather spend their days outside, rather than in crates in the basement.

Any help would be appreciated!

(And Cricket won't be spending the days outside, to spare my neighbours his barkbarkbarking! ;))
