I hear alot of stories about dogs losing their aggression after being neutered. I guess my question is: exactly how much aggression do they lose? I have an appointment to get Cody "taken care of" and am a little nervous? Is he going to be a complete wuss after this is over? Right now he pitches a holy fit when someone comes to the door and I LIKE THAT. Will he lose this watchdog mentality? He does not attack animals or people, and obviously we don't want him to. However, I do want him to continue to stand his ground when strangers come to the house. Thank you for your thoughts!

Indy lost none of his aggression, in fact, he has gotten more aggressive and protective with age. One major change to Indy is that he finally stopped humping my bed pillows- this alone brought me great joy!

I dont think he will lose it at all. He will still be protective, but he will also be more submisive with you. Not as dominant. In my opinion.

Dont mistake being territorial for being aggressive. I would expect him to protect what's his after being neutered without question. What you hope to see is some of the unwanted aggressive tendencies subside...like charging people, worrying about everything going on around him etc. Should help him focus on just the important stuff...
