Anyone here a schipperke owner?

Nice pics Chrissy!! I saw a Schipperke at petsmart a few days ago...it wasn't in the store it was outside of it sniffing in the grass as I drove by so I didn't get any interaction with it.
We had a dog at the shelter a while ago that I believe was a schipperke that was docked. The shelter named it as something else as it was a stray but I swear it was a schipperke!! It was nippy though, and VERY active! lol

I always say that Schipperkes are special dogs for special people. 
You either like them a lot or you don't like them at all. If you're looking for a dog that will always be friendly with everyone he meets, then Schipp is definitely not a breed for you. They're not supposed to be aggressive, but they are quite reserved with strangers. They love their family to death and they'll do everything to please them and to protect them..... they are after all guard dogs and very good at it too .
I myself like dogs that know who their owners are and that know very well how to show it as well. That's why I chose a Chihuahua and that why I'm getting a Schipperke as well. I simply like the fact that my dog follows me everywhere (and they are small enough to go everywhere with you) and that's why I like them so much. They are truly the most loyal breed I know. I had a Labrador Retriever in the past and as much as I loved her I'd never have a Lab again . She was happy to see anyone that came to our house, and if he happened to have some food, she'd sell her soul LOL. NOT the quality that I'm looking for when buying a dog .
