Well we had an orange male kitten. Roxy hated it. She got sulky and pooped in the house all the time..totally went back on her training and growled when it came near her. So we gave it away. Funny thing is...she spent a whole day sniffing out the house looking for kitty. She did this for about a day...Then Friday night I heard a meow outside my door (no its not what your thinking lol) and I look out and there is the sadest excuse for a kitten ever on my porch. An hour and a half later some milk and cat food I conned it into my house. The next day Roxy sat by the kitten all day even though it hisses at her. she also let the kitty EAT FROM HER FOOD BOWL AND DRINK HER WATER!!!!! let me repeat..my possesive boxer did not get mad when the KITTEN took her stuff. Its for sure a stray its a black female. When the kitten walks around she follows it and besides stealing his cat food she has not done one mean thing to it. We have left her alone in the apartment...not caged..she was for a week because she pooped everywhere when we left her alone.. and she has been a perfect angel. Yesterday we even left the two of them out together, well the bedroom and bathroom doors open so kitty could escape if need be...we come back and they are asleep on the couch together!!! has this ever happend to anyone... Roxy has never really liked cats...and she has never let one behave this way...it sits on my lap and she doesnt act all that jealous. is this...normal?? a phaze? we took the kitty to the spca to get fixed and dewormed and shots it has to stay there for 3 days in case it is someones...I hope not I actually like this kitty... is that a posible to? I dont like cats but I like this one...can roxy tell that?? anyways on the car ride home she looked under all the seats (she came to the spca for a ride) i dont know if spca is everywhere..its an animal shelter...spca is french i belive lol ...but she looked everywhere when i got back in the car minus kitty and she whined at me and tried to get in the front seat to check for kitty.

Here's what I think: Roxie saw the last cat as YOUR kitten. She sees this baby as HER kitten, LoL.

My husband's dearly departed male rott/shepherd mix was like that when the barn cat had a litter of kittens. He would guard the kittens when momma was away, and fret and whine whenever the little babies started crying. Whenever Momma Cat (that was actually the mother's name) decided to move the kittens to a new nest, the dog would help her carry them. There's nothing sweeter than watching a 120-pound dog carefully carrying a blind, newborn kitten like it's the most precious thing in the world.
