So Skip my male min pin is 7 months old.. and today my friend brought her 3 months old pug Peggy to my house...planning to see skip and peggy play around..but skip started humping peg and my friend doesnt allow him to take peg's "innocence" away..

So what i'm wondering is.. what will happen if skip mate with her and is it okay to let them do that??

At 3 months I highly doubt Peggy is even in heat yet which means they will not mate. The humping may just be a dominance thing, I am higher up then you kinda thing. My female humps my male, every which way and they are definantly not mating.

As far as should you let them mate when the time comes:
1] No female is too young!
2] No min pin crossed with Pug is a mutt, there are more then enough mutts in the shelters and rescues, without creating more.
3] Do you want puppies?
4] What will you do with the puppies?
5] Has Peggy been tested for any health issues that are known in Pugs?
6] Has Skip been tested for any health issues that are known in Min Pins?
7] Can you afford puppies?

I am sure others will have more points but this is just what I can think of.

Merry Christmas!

Do you mean, should you just leave them too it - ie will she get pregnant?

I am sure you don't mean should you mate them.

If the pug is only 3 months, she shouldn't be able to get pregnant, but is best to be safe than sorry, and make sure the chance isn't there!

Just let them play, and keep a CLOSE eye on them.

Thanx for the responds you guys..

Will skip ever stop humping peg? Because Peg's owner is now scared to let Peg play with Skip.. which is bad because I'm her best friend (to peg's owner of course).. anyway.. she just got peg so she is really protective about her.

Skip goes crazy when she carried Peg away from hiim and he would bark and howl and stuffs. Are you sure he's trying to show dominance..

My female humps my male everyday and twice on Sundays...lol

I would say as long as she is not in heat and no one is getting hurt let them work it out. If she is in heat then seperate because she will get preggy, perhaps spay her or neuter Skip or both. That sure would end the worries of unwanted pups. It sure sounds like a dominance thing to me but it is hard over the internet to say for sure.

I agree with you it does sound like a dominance thing. I also read where someone said something about cross breeding, she's right. You don't want to let that happen. Maybe you should get your Min Pin a teddy bear to hump on. My female pomeranian has a teddy she humps on all the time. My male looks at her likes she's crazy:) But I never had that problem with him. She's the alpha dog I think. I acts a little scare of her. But I would try that.
