A truly sick story.

Well, the dog died of natural causes so it's not like he hurt anybody. Pretty disgusting though, especially since it died of natural causes. I would NEVER eat an animal that died of natural causes....it just not...natural. Or remotely healthy.

People do dumb things to get attention. And that's what he wanted. Attention. For himself and for what he percieved as an injustice to the fox that died, and that's exactly what he got.

Edit: here's a link to the MSN article which says the dog died of natural causes.

Eating dog isn't inherently disgusting, or at least not any more disgusting than eating other animals. A lot of Native American tribes used to eat dog. I imagine that was how they kept their dog population in check, since they couldn't spay their dogs. Lewis and Clark's expedition also ate dog (except Clark, who couldn't stomach the idea) and grew to like it. They thought it was very healthy and invigorating, too.

Anyway, this dog died of natural causes (at a puppy mill, it sounds like . . . poor thing.)

I second Boemy, I haven't eaten meat in a few years now, but personally I don't think just because an animal is cute all of sudden it's made a fuss over when it's eaten. Cows are sacred in many parts of the world and yet we have no problem eating them just like in some places dogs are eaten ( though I have more of a problem with this due to the inhumane conditions/way they are slaughtered).

True about traditional western food animals vs. "cute" animals. Although, I wouldn't willingly eat another carnivore just because carnivores tend to accumulate a much heavier load of toxins in their bodies than vegetarian animals, or animals with shorter lifespans (like a chicken).

Anyway, eating a domestic corgi? Blech. Who knows what kind of crap kibble loaded with preservatives and residual barbituates from animal byproducts that dog was being fed. When you think about that, plus vaccinations it recieved, and if it had been recently given antibiotics or other medications (possible since it died of natural causes) that stuff can carry over to you if you eat it. Same thing with any kind of heartworm meds, preventatives, flea and tick preventative......etc. You definitely wouldn't catch me ingesting one of those. Only 100% organic free range dog for me. (jk! :p )
