    The pyr shep discussion

Having a dog who will only work for one person is different than having a dog who is untrusting, and afraid of people. Not all Pyr Sheps are fearful of course, but quite a few of them are. It requires constant maintenance and training- loads of socializing...forever. A Pyr Shep is a far cry from...

    Rescue or Breeder

I am at my max (five!) so won't be getting another dog anytime in the next few years...lol. But it will be a puppy from a breeder. Most likely a Kelpie or a Border Collie. Or maybe a Flatcoat. I have a few years to agonize over it. lol

    'Almost' dog names

there are some really great name, and "almost" names! Wicca was always Wicca. I think it suits her perfectly. Feminine, but tough. Unusual. Which is her. She is not your average corgi. Pixel was named "Pixie" in the litter. Which I hated. I had a long list of names for her. I really...

    Tell me about Brittanies please

I've got two that come to daycare regularly, and one that is in my agility classes. Both dogs are boys, and are sweet, affectionate, and eager to please. They are sensitive, and like to be right. One of them has a coat that does need regular grooming or the neuter fuzz takes over, the other...

    Group Photo Out-Take

Outcast by manymuddypaws, on Flickr I was trying to get a new photo for my blog header, but the dogs weren't being particularily cooperative. This one cracked me up. Poor Pixel, the only good dog that stayed where I left her.

    I sometimes wish...

Good for you! Impulse is generally not a very good way to get a dog. You'll know when the time is right, and it will be an even better experience because you waited.

    Off and On Lurker

Thanks for the nice welcome! I am looking forward to getting to know you guys! @SaraB- I didn't have Boone as a puppy, so don't have any advice for bringing home a baby Pyr Shep, but I will tell you that just like any other puppy socialise, socialise, socialise. Teach the dog to trust you...

    Dog bed recommendations?

I have costco beds too- the dogs love them, they wash easily and seem to stand up to the digging and nesting that my dogs do. It also helps that they are a great price! I do love WestPaw beds though- I have two, and if not for the expense would have more. I have the bumper beds- fun colors...

    Off and On Lurker

Hi All, I figured it was time to actually join in on some of the great conversations around here! I actually joined this forum in 2009, but rarely posted, and then just eventually stopped even checking in. Anyway, I figured it was time to jump back in! I know quite a few of the members...
