Swimsuits, what style do you like?

The other thread got me wondering, what all styles do people like? I like swimming, I hate being exposed. It seems like others feel the same way. So what types do you wear?

I'm tempted to get some swimsuit fabric and make my own. lol. IMO the retro styles are pretty awesome.

I also adore the dress type ones with bloomers underneath. I really really want to make a set like that for my daughter and niece. They'd love it.

Bathing suit shopping leads to tears and rage. I have a weird body shape, and my boobs are not the same size.

Style and color are irrelevant. The first suit that fits and doesn't cost a bajillion dollars, I buy. Then I go home and feel bad about myself.

That said, the second suit there is really cute.

I've been looking at some of the newer retro inspired stuff, and it's cute but expensive! lol. Plus I'm really picky about prints and stuff. This way it can be custom and I save $$$.

Edit: Oh my gosh I just googled "modest swimwear" and found a site for muslim women. I want this one because then I'll be like a swimming ninja! dun dun dun!

The one I have is a two piece. Top is a tank top like, and then the bottom as, hell I don't know what they call it but it looks like normal bottoms/underwear and has an attached skirt.

These are my favorite kind! I found a bunch at American eagle but basically it's an underwire push-up bikini top with basic bottom

I LOVE when a bikini top has underwire
(I hate those stupid triangle squares that do nothing support or anything wise)
and I LOVE the kind that you can tie the sides on the bottom
(my hips suck and if a bottom is too tight sometimes it looks like love handley and just bad)

I used to get my bathing suits from victoria secret but HOW CAN YOU SHOP ONLINE THERE?! everything looks amazing on those models!!

I have one that's like a tank top with a skirt, but it's all one piece. I wish the skirt was longer, though, and the top part covered more. I really like those retro styles, too!

It's a one piece and the top is really great, it kind of "wears" like a shirt and goes a bit over the bottom part.. and the whole thing is really comfortable

Swimsuit shopping makes me cry... I don't do it. I'm seriously the type that will buy a swimsuit and then wear a shirt and shorts over and swim like that. I'm miserable with my body and don't like being exposed in any way and don't like wearing tight fitting stuff in public. If I was thinner than maybe.... But right now... No way.

I have one that's shaped something like this, but with different colors. It's got bright green, bright blue and I think white. The bottom is blue...sort of a azure color. I use it almost every day.


When I lose another 10 lbs, I'll model it for you. :rofl1:

This is SO CUTE!! I love it!

I'm not typical swimsuit person. I like board shorts and a rash guard top. I water ski and wake board. I also enjoy jet skis. When I was younger my bottoms had a hard time staying on if I ate it when skiing, I also couldn't get past feeling like I was wearing underware in public...lol...since then it's been board shorts and rash guard tops. I might wear shorts and sports bra type top if I can find one that's supportive enough for me.

VINTAGE! I'm totally about the retro bathing suits, usually 40s and 50s, but I like a lot from earlier too. The one I have right now is red and white polka dots. It's a "tankini" with a fitted waist with a bow. The bottom has a ruffled skirt. I love it! <3

Honestly, though, being overweight like I am, I'll just put on any one piece and then put a t-shirt over it. I love looking, hate trying on and shopping.
