I was perusing Facebook earlier and saw a friend's post about her dog being worried that a certain toy was going to attack him. I realized that Saga has her own weird fears.

Bangle bracelets.

I'm not sure if she is actually scared of them or just views them as a bad fashion choice :rofl1:, but she would not let a friend, who she has met several times, anywhere near her last weekend when she was wearing them.

How about yours?

Tyr is afraid of the flexi lead. Not wearing it, but if it's placed on the floor next to him. He's also afraid of doorways.

Nyx is afraid of being petted.

Morgan isn't afraid of anything as far as I know.

The only things Ares is afraid of aren't weird.

Fudge is afraid of kittens. Not adult cats just kittens. I caught him snuggling with them yesterday though but as soon as he realised I knew he jumped backwards away from them :rofl1: .

Chloe doesn't like the basement steps. Once I get her on them, she's fine and will go up and down, but if one of us walks down and tries to get her to follow she'll just sit there with the most worried look on her face. (The steps are wooden and not finnished, so I'm assuming that has something to do with it.)

The Lab we raised didn't like lighters, the sound of ballons being blown up, or the noise makers that just uncurl the streamer thing. LOL She also didn't like barn fans.

Sam is terrified of the basement and I've never gotten him over it, which is fine as that is the "cats hangout" area and they like it that way.

Before he was terrified of small-breed dogs, closets, water (even the water dish), and women. I got him over that thankfully. Though he did go through a phase where he was scared of his leash, if he was wearing it then he was fine but if it wasn't on him then he ran away from it.

Riley was totally freaked out by the strolling minstrels and Irish dancers at the Ren Faire. There was also the killer frog who took up temporary residence in his pool...

We cut through a church yard on our walks and there is a statue of Mary, Mina thinks it's evil. I think it's mostly because one night we were walking through and she wasn't paying attention and when she looked up it was right in front of it. Now when she sees it she hides behind me and gives her bravest bark.

Upendi is afraid of any dog smaller than twenty pounds, mostly thanks to my gramma's shih tzu.

I have a rescued GSD and she is afraid of clean clothes. Not sure why maybe the sent is what sets her off. I can't walk through the house with arms full of clean laundry fresh from the dryer without her cowering or hiding. I can walk through the house with arms full of dirty laundry with no problem at all.

My Golden boy is afraid of my hockey sticks, the toes of the sticks to be exact. I can't tape a stick with out him running to the other room...

Dance is afraid of bags... dog food bags, plastic bags, paper bags, etc. She's fine with fabric bags. I have no idea why she's afraid of them, though. She has been forever, and is better now, but still sneaks around when there's a bag in her vicinity. She also used to be petrified of cats, but she's much better about them now.

Keira I don't think is afraid of anything weird. Not that we've encountered yet, anyway. She does have a couple fears, but not at all weird.

And Ripley, I don't know that he is afraid of anything weird. He's cautious and worries a little around people with roller blades and skateboards if the person comes up fast behind or beside him. But not much, and he recovers in seconds. But I imagine that a lot of dogs who don't regularly encounter such things would show some fear/hesitation. Other than that, I can't think of anything he's afraid of. He went through a weird phase where he was afraid of other large dogs, and would scream if they so much as looked at him, but it only lasted a few months and he's not like that anymore.

Found out this weekend that Mu is deathly afraid of skateboards but hides it by barking like a maniac. She's also afraid of men with beards and/or sunglasses....I have no idea why. The only weird thing I've seen Murphy be afraid of was a little miniature train thing that was being used of decoration in a rock bed. He growled and growled and acted like it was going to eat him...hilarious.

You know those noisemakers that people get for parties - not the horn shaped ones, but the ones that when you blow on the end, the paper unrolls out?
Yeah Auggie hates those with a passion. I've never heard him growl the way he did when I had one of those... never before, and never since.

I brought home an inflatable, bug-eyed lemur toy from the state fair over the weekend. Morgan is not a fan. I think that if he could have he would have burst into tears when I walked in the front door with it.

He's also scared of my purse. But that is my own dumb fault. I had it over my shoulder and bent down to hook his leash on him, and the purse swung down and smacked him in the face.

Riley is afraid of anything that sprays water... the hose, spray bottle, even pouring a water bottle sometimes. He is afraid of the broom. He used to be afraid of doorways too, but he got over that as he got older, took a while though!

I gave him a new squeaky toy last night and he was afraid of it for the first 10 minutes or so! lol

Let's see, both puppies think the vacuum cleaner is straight from the deepest, darkest, scariest, evilest realm of hell.

Ophie doesn't, apparently, like bags of wee wee pads sitting in the office. I had a bag in here this morning because I was checking the ingredients of them because I was going to use them on the floor of my future rats' playpen during their out-of-cage time.
I let her out of her crate, and she rounded the corner, stopped dead in the doorway of the office, and started barking her butt off.
I came into the office, and I knew what she was barking at. I grabbed the bag and took some out and let her sniff them. She was fine after that.

Luke doesn't like plastic bags being crinkled loudly at him. He freaks out and starts growling and snarling. We found that out the other night.
As soon as the bag went away, he was INSTANTLY apologetic and on his back like he was a million times sorry for growling.
We knew it was the bag that freaked him out.

I think that may be a puppy thing (reacting to something that's new or out of place). Bailey used to do that and we had a family dog who would bark her head off at things that were "different" -- for example, Annie barked at a chair on the back porch that had fallen over.

B also hates vacuum cleaners. Even if they aren't on, he knows what they are, and will occasionally let them know he's watching, lol. He went through a phase of doing the same thing to brooms/dustmops/mops, but he seems to have gotten over that. He also doesn't like it when I bang his frozen food patties on a hard surface to break them apart. It's weird. He's not otherwise noise sensitive or skittish though. He couldn't care less about thunderstorms or fireworks. It's odd.

And maxfox, I have been known to smack Bailey with my purse, lol.

Skyler gets scared if you say "POP" really loud...(My sister did that to him..and he would run out of the room)

Trike...Ugh more like what isn't he scared of..LOL..We adopted him and it said on his file that he was found on a farm..so I'm guessing he was a outside dog...and when we first got him he wouldn't come into any of the rooms...he does now but not the bathroom...and he HATES change..like if you move something around or if a fan is beside the couch..he won't go on the couch....Also if hes in the room and you go to move a kitchen chair..and the laundry basket he flips out...Also brooms and stuff...Poor guy!
