I'm reading The Hunger Games. Right before bed.

'nuff said.

PLEASE, PLEASE somebody tell me there's a somewhat happy/satisfying ending?

At this point, I can't decide if it would be better to stay up a couple more hours and finish the book hoping for a good ending, or just *try* to go to sleep. :dunno:

I made the same mistake. That was a disturbing book. My 8th graders LOVE it though.
Ugh, I'm not sure I would've liked it in 8th grade. I guess it's more intersting than The Scarlet Letter, though. :)

Funny, I'd always heard it was really violent and gory, so I was prepared for that. But I didn't think the gore was too bad... psychologically speaking, it was VERY disturbing.

I'm starting the second one tonight.

Side note: If anyone has suggestions for HAPPY books, they're welcome!! :D

The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick is a pretty fast read, really good, and uplifting.
