Absolutely nothing! She was suppose to call the ned of last week to make delivery arrangements, but she did not. I have left three messages this week and nothing no calls back nothing. I think I got screwed! She was sent $300 for adoption fee and care fees, and $50 for gas to delivery her and I think she took the money and ran. I am wandering if there ever was a dog.

Sure does just left a fourth message and my husband told me not to hold my breath because I would probably die. If I hear anything this will be the first place I post because you are the only ones who know I am trying for this resuce. I am extremely disappointed and down right mad.

Are you sure you want to bring in another dog - and a rescue at that - when you're already dealing with so many challenges with your pup? Multiple dogs mean multiple issues. I can't imagine raising two young children, a very challenging pup and a rescue dog all at the same. Maybe you're more energetic than I am? ;)

This rescue dog is already trained and has no issues to bring in except a gentle kind disposition. SHe is also older and settled, she is acustom to living in an apartment so I think she would love the 200 acres. But I think I have been screwed out of the money and I feel it was probably a scam and the dog probably never existed anyway. My kids are great to train around becuase they can play with their toys and let mommy work with the doggy and we all go for walks together. Kids in their wagon and doggy on the leash. Right now I have 3 black labs and Yukon so I think 2 dogs and 2 kids will be a real let down really. THe labs are leaving tomorrow I was only sitting them. I had fun walking 4 dogs on one hand and pulling the wagin with the other. The fenced in yard sure comes in handy then and the large acreage to play and burn off energy. So after tomorrow morning it will be just Yukon all by himslef. He got along just perfectly with the labs too and to try and help get him accustom to other dogs I think they helped a whole lot with him.

Was the person you were supposed to get the dog from a rescue? I'm usually over paranoid about that stuff, but I know I wouldn't give the money without having the dog.

She was associated with a rescue and they are looking into this to see if they can at least determine if there was a dog since they never saw the dog or pictures either. I was very paranoid too but she insisted that the dog was going to be gased the next morning and she sounded like the perfect dog for us. Maybe we will be lucky enough and she will call sometime soon with an explaination, and to make arrangements to bring the dog to us or refund the money. Still have fingers crossed.

Well it is now late Sunday afternoon and 4 messages have been left and nothing back. I am more than positive I was screwed and I am hopping mad. I think there never was a dog and she was selling a nothing to people just to make some extra cash. What a tragedy for all of us who got screwed and shame on her for doing this.

This is the third rescue we have been approved for and paid for and then not gotten so no more rescues for me unless I can walk in my self and take the dog home right then and there. No more over the phone deals for me.

Legitimate rescues won't take payment until the new adoptee has been approved and the dog is handed over to its owner. This has happened to you three times?? I would question the legitimacy of the rescues that you're dealing with. Are you trying to adopt a dog in Canada or going across the border?

Across the boarder and they approve me but for some reason the transport never seems to happen. We get it all set up and then everything vanishes including my money. That is why I said no more, if we can not go in person we do not go. At least the first two were only $25 each so we did not lose much but this last one was a person not a legitamate rescue group so it was a scam I am quite sure.

Actually we are thinking of going to a reputable breeder, one approved by the GSCC and buying another puppy. Never mind the rescues and we will wait until spring so that I can work more with Yukon and forget this crap. I am still hopeful that a logical explaination will be provided by this last lady. At least the first two did call back and tell me that the dog had been PTS, they did not refund the money instead they said it was concerned a donation. At least they did return the call though. Anyone who lives in the North Carolina area please PM me and I can forward the name and phone number maybe someone else could talk with her; at least find out if there is a dog or what is up. Will she try to sell it to someone else?

Why not adopt from a Canadian rescue or one of the humane societies? There are always so many GSDs and GSD mixes in the shelters. Some of them have to be within driving distance.

Not interested in a mix I want a pure breed. I am on a waiting list for the North Bay gsd rescue but they have no dogs at all, which is good but not for me. Toronto says my kids are too small to even consider me. Here the shelters only have mutts so far no purebreds but I am keeping that option open if something comes up. I am just waiting to see if I am worried for nothing and this lady will call and have a logical explaination. I do not want to go and adopt something else and then have her call with something like emergency business trip or whatever, and then end up with two new dogs at once. I want to be absolutely positive that she screwed me, which it sure seems like it but just in case. She is only a week late on calling and not answering my messages,

Yuck, I had the same thoughts when I was looking for a GSD in a rescue. I almost didn't go look at Bear because he wasn't a pure GSD (he was GSD/Akita). That would have been one of the worst mistakes of my life. He was far and away superior to any of the pure bred GSDs I've seen - bar none. And Bimmer has proven himself to be the same.
