Today Katy went for her 6 month check-up at the vets, and got a microchip. When we adopted her, back in November 2011, they said she had a heart murmur but that she might grow out of it. Turns out, it IS gone! I was quite worried about that. She got her microchip, she turned and looked at myself and my sister, then cried and cried out very loud! The vet was quite rough with her, but nice to her afterwards she forgave him and tried to kiss him!
He also weighed her, she weighs 14.5kg, and is a bit thin, but we think that's due to her just being very active. Her vet bill came to £49 for her chip and consultation.
So all that went well. After going to the vets, we went to the pet shop in Lairg. I let the girls pick a toy each, Katy chose a 'Me to You' rope toy, Lucy chose a honking goose, and I got them a Boomer Ball to share. I also got 3 cows ears, a bag of chicken gravy bones and all that came to £31.25. Quite good I thought! There was also a parrot, and two other green birds in there. The parrot, who was 18 months old and called Diva, and apparently was a Diva by nature too! She kept saying hello, but Lucy, who is obsessed with birds, was getting worked up, so my sister took the dogs out of the shop while I paid.
Before all that, we had some time to spare, so we went to the Falls of Shin and took the girls for a walk in the woods. They have never been walking in woods before (we have no woods near where we live in Kinlochbervie), and they really enjoyed it. Lots of interesting smells to them! So here are a few photos from the walk...
In the car on the way, before she threw up three times!
