My initial knee-jerk reaction was that I'd switch, I had already switched my Rottie from Canidae to Kirkland to try to make up for some of the fuel prices, and I thought that this change was enough to take my Min Pins off of Canidae and to keep me from switching my Rottie back and forth to Canidae. After looking into it a little further, my Min Pins will still have Canidae in their rotation, and the Rottie will have it in his rotation also.

I don't, and won't, ever feed any of my dogs one dog food, Athena hates anything from Innova, and loses weight if forced to eat it, Zeus loves EVO, but only for 2 days, then won't eat. Maya, if given Instinct, blows up like a balloon. Apollo, if given the same food two days in a row, goes on a starvation diet. Thor will eat what you put in front of him, and clean up what's left from the other dogs, and he neither gains, nor loses weight, he just seems to get more active if he eats EVO, than he would be if he ate Innova.

At this very moment, Thor is working on a bag of Kirkland, and he gets Canidae every other day. Zeus is working on a bag of Chicken Soup for the Puppy lover's soul, and he gets Canidae every other day. Maya and Athena are working on a bag of Innova, Solid Gold BATM, and they get Canidae every third day. Apollo is working on a bag of Instinct one day, EVO RM the next, and once again, Canidae every third day.

They all eat well, they're all healthy, and the common thread with all of them is the Canidae. It could be coincidence, but I don't know if I'll change it all over one food changing it's recipe, or manufacturer. No matter what, even if the change is for the worse, at least none of my dogs are stuck on one food, so they won't even notice if we remove it from their diet.

If I fed Canidae, I would switch. When Timberwolf started getting sketchy I switched foods.

I feed Orijen now, and I will continue to feed it. I suppliment with raw and canned as well.

Meg will stay on her mostly Orijen/some raw diet. There are a lot of other places I will cut my budget before I start in on her diet.

We switched from Canidae to Innova. The Innova here is just a few dollars more then Canidae since the upped the price of their food. I just don't trust Canidae anymore. I am actually glad canidae got greedy because the dogs are doing great on Innova and for the first time in years they are all on the same food.

no probably not unless i see my dogs have problems with it. it does not surprise me that their prices are/have gone up- the price of everything else is going up!

i regularly switch brands of food, feeding canidae every third bag or so. i don't plan to change that.

We'd like to switch Winston's food, but we don't know what kind. It took us two and a half years to find Canidae and discover that Winston could eat it without a problem, and now because of the ingredient changes, he's throwing up on a daily basis again. He's super sensitive to foods. He needs to be on something with lamb (might do ok with venison too, but I'm not sure) and very moderate amounts of grain. If it's too grain heavy he throws up constantly, if it's poultry he gets extremely ill, and if it's grain free he can't digest it at all. I have no idea what to do.

I switched my dogs from Canidae a few months ago to Eagle Pack Holistic line, Canidae wasn't working for them. With gas prices right now I wanted to find a decent food that was cheaper than Eagle. I was told about Nutrisource, made here in MN. I have been feeding it for about a month now and am pretty happy with the results. I also have a finicky eater and she loves this food.

I'm switching Stogie from Innova EVO (small bites) to Taste of the Wild, as a test. He's been eating the EVO for some time - but he eats it out of pure starvation! He doesn't look forward to eating it... And that's why I'm on the quest for a new kibble. :(

Reading the ingredients of the Taste of the Wild - Wetlands Formula it looks ok??....

Ingredients:
Duck, duck meal, chicken meal, egg product, sweet potatoes, peas, chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols, potatoes, roasted quail, roasted duck, smoked turkey, natural flavor, tomato pomace, ocean fish meal, choline chloride, dried chicory root, tomatoes, blueberries, raspberries, yucca schidigera extract, Enterococcus faecium, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Saccharomyces cerevesiae fermentation solubles, dried Aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract, vitamin E supplement, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B1), manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, biotin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin (vitamin B2), vitamin D supplement, folic acid.
I guess we'll see how Stogie like's it. I just bought it Yesterday - and he ate the ENTIRE first bowl.................................................

PS: I'd like to add cost is not a factor for me, because Stogie is 9 lbs, and eats about 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of kibble a day, so his 6.6lbs bag of Evo at around $17 last's for 6 weeks (give or take). :) However the taste of the wild is only $10 for 5lbs, but its still one of those hard to find brand that is only available at 1 retailer locally - luckily that retailer is only about 4 miles from my house.
