Yes, a lot of white animals do tend to have some health issues, such as being deaf, blind, etc. I do think they have pretty coats but I don't at all agree with breeding to get them. You should breed to try to better the breed, and that would mean you want to try to eliminate health problems, not keep them going.
Serena - this question got me curious about something - would a responsible breeder know if there was the gene for a white one somewhere in the lineage of the two dogs they were wanting to breed? Maybe that is a silly question, but I have always wondered how specifically a breeder knows that one of the dogs may have some fault somewhere.
