So I went to Georgia to pick up this adorable whippet girl who needed a home. She's a trained flyball dog that was being neglected, pretty much left in a crate 24/7. I decided to add her to my team because she is disc crazy, leaps, tugs and catches everything. I'm super stoked to get her working! Medically, she's lost some hair and needs a dental but she's doing well after being in her foster home.

Also, her name is Vamp, and I'm not sure if I want to keep it or not. Ideas?? I want to name her Swift but a friend had a dog named that who she lost too early. So that name is out.

Someday I want a Whippet named Whisper. So that's my vote, especially if she's drivey and crazy :D She's adorable!

First off she is beyond adorable and her story is so sad! So happy you could take her in

Ajali is swahili for new chance.. but it's a little bit of a mouthful.

I think she looks like a cupcake personally.

I've lost count of the Devo/Diva Whippets I've met. :D Does it have to be a Z name to go with your current theme?

OMG she's CUTE!! And idea of her breeding? And... MORE pictures, please!

Nope, z names are not required! I don't want Renegade to feel left out!

I always kind of wanted to name a whippet Whipstitch, but that might not work as name you'd say out loud all the time.

Cupcake does look like it fits her! But I think we need more pics. ;)

Just some random fast dog names:

Dash
Mach

Maybe since she's a flyball dog, an aircraft/airport type name?

Tarmac
Piston
Winglet
Rudder
Glider

Swift = Chimney Swift = Bird.. And I love bird names for dogs. :)
Wren (too close to Renegade), Sparrow, Kestrel, Lark... Whippet girls are nice because you can tend to get away with really 'girly' names. Both of mine were already named when I got them.. no idea what I'm going to do about naming #3!

Or if you spin off 'Vamp'... did you read any of the Anne Rice vampire series? Name her after a vampire!

Adorable!

What I don't understand... how do you train a dog up in a sport and then neglect it in a crate all day? It's totally counterintuitive. People who train their dogs in sports are usually good owners, and besides that it takes time to train a dog. Did their circumstances change or something? New baby, lost job? So weird.

I like Amp except it isn't very feminine. I like the idea of something airplane related. Or call her Keeper, cause she is.

Not sure we can really come up with a name without more pictures....:p

She's so pretty! I like the idea of dropping the V and going with Amp. That's cute! Especially for a flyball (are you doing flyball?) dog because of all the noise/barking!
