I live out in the country so everyone I know keeps their dogs outside all the time. If it is warm out during the day (like to day, 55 degrees) my dog stayed outside and hunted bugs. At night he comes inside to sleep and I will continue on doing that because we have coyotes that come up to the barn (and go inside and kill our cats in the summer!) So I don't want my dog getting hurt since he is kind of a whimp and won't fight with another dog. (which is good and bad.) My sister keeps her dogs inside but they go outside during the day if someone is home (they live in a bigger city and the dogs know how to open the gate. So I was wondering where your dog stays? I would do a poll but I don't think I can with this post.

We live in the country too.We have 80 acres so alot of room to run. I also have kennels, so if not out with me or in the kennel they are in the house.

Penny sleeps in her open crate and she has a hall that is doggie proofed...well except the mop is out there but Penny won't go near it. During the day and up to her bedtime, she is inside the house. She really hates being outside, too many scary noises. :)

On nice days, Oso is outside in the yard or out in his kennel during the day.(keeps him out of trouble!) When it is rainy or cold, he is in the house. I have just recently been able to leave him alone in the house where I don't dread coming home to something he may have chewed! If I am home he is usually in the house with me.

Hobbit is always in the house. He HATES being outside alone. If I am not out there, he does not want to be out there. He is older so he has full run of the house. It is a rare occasion that he wants to stay out.

Both of them are in by 7pm, and usually earlier. They sleep in my bedroom next to my bed. If Hubby is not home Hobbit sometimes sneaks up on the bed, but they are not supposed to go on the bed. (I don't really mind :p )

Mine are inside if I'm away. They get to go out if they like into a secure exercise yard in nice weather.

They sleep inside with us every night, and they stay inside if they want to in bad weather except to potty.

Zeus stays inside, even when we're at work. He's quite trustworthy inside and doesn't need to be crated or anything. But sometimes on nice mild days, I leave him in the yard while we're at work. He likes being outside and napping in the shade of the courtyard. He is always indoors at night.

Mine are inside/outside dogs. They do stay inside if we are gone, but when we are home, they can go outside as long as they like, or stay inside. At night they are in with us, and only go out to potty.

All my goldens have been inside/outside dogs. When we lived in the country on 8 wooded acres they love to sleep in the decks during the day, but would spend most of the time in doors. Here, Chip will go out in the back yard for a few minutes but prefers to be in with me.( unless I'm out there too ) I have a chain out front when I'm working out there , but her rarely wants to be there alone. All dogs have been in at night and slept where they wanted to.... usually with us.

OUrs are inside dogs. They go out to potty, and that's pretty much it.

Now dont get me wrong. I let Emma out, whenever she asks, but she never asks. She can also stay out as long as she wants but she usually want in right away.

I don't agree with having "outside dogs" so mine are inside.

My dogs are free to come and go as they please, as long as they ask to go outside. They are NEVER, EVER left outside without someone with them. NEVER. I go outside and spend hours at a time, in the garden, by the pool, in their yard (we have a seperated yard theirs/ours), etc.

And there is NOTHING better than having all three of my dogs cuddled in bed with me at night.

When no one is home, Kiara is put up in my room & Simba and Nala have access to every room but mine. I like to seperate the girls because they get rough when playing and I don't want the playing without me supervising.

And yes, I put the TV on for them. ;)

well now that i am back living at home i have two dogs. the older dog that belongs to my bro and parents is an 'outside dog' i love her so much and would love for her to be an inside dog, but i've tried to bring her in and she gets way to stressed out and only seems happy outside. luckily everyone goes out and plays with her all the time.

now yoshi is an inside dog and i wouldn't have it any other way :) when i'm gone she's in my room and when i'm home she's wherever i am :)

My boy sleeps either on the floor, couch or in his crate AKA his house. HEHE
He loves his crate, sometimes my 3 cats sleep in there with him lol. (the door is always open)

He sleeps by my feet in my bedroom when im on my computer :) I have a loft bed tho and he pants so no chance of that, haha.

Casey is an inside dog. She can go out whenever she wants during the day and sometimes if it's sunny doesn't even want to come back in. She sleeps in the house at night.
