I am another fan of Suave shampoos and conditioners. I actually use their Kids combo products. I'm very happy with them for kids AND dogs. Blueberry is my favorite.
I use the combos on my little boys.........One likes the coconut and the other likes the orange mango or whatever it is. LOL, it does smell GREAT!

On the dogs I use an oatmeal / baking soda.........don't remember the name and I don't wanna go down stairs and look, LOL I get it at Petsuppliesplus...

Generic baby shampoo.

But i'm a really bad owner and only bathe Jager about once a month. It'd be more if we had a tub, but as it is he has to get washed down with the hose. And then my mom gripes if he comes in wet, smelling like a big wet dog... but it doesn't fail that if he's outside and wet, he lays in dirt... making mud... you get the picture.

I have alot of different shampoos, althou my main one I use is Day to Day by Chris Christinson. Also have Black on Black by Chris Christinson for the Rotts, Plush Puppy regular shampoo, and I think when I was in a bind for shampoo I picked up a good Biogroom at a local vendor. Also have a small bottle of Isle of Dog ( big show dog vendor) but really wasnt impressed.

P.s.

the type of shampoo you choose should also depend on the type of coat you are washing and what you are looking for (in a response) from that coat. Do you want it fluffy? flat? shiny? full, bouncy? hard? the list goes on.

Well I have lots of really long hair(past my waist) and Cleo has long hair, so we just use the same shampoo and conditioner, which is Tresemme. We also use it on Molly and Charlie.

I thought groomers strongly advised AGAINST using people shampoo on dogs due to the ph being different or something like that?

Very true about coat types.
For the cockers I like Pantene or the Suave/Equate equivalent...with a favorite being the Suave Humectant one.
Another favorite is Cowboy Magic Rosewater shampoo...especially coats that are hair type instead of fur.

I follow all baths with BioGroom SILK creme rinse conditioner...mixed at least 10 to 1 with water in a spray bottle as a leave-in conditioner. Not greasy and leaves long coats tangle resistant and resistant to dirt and debris. It works good on short coats as well as it leaves the coat VERY shiny as well.
