I am interested in so many breeds. I'd love to have a Pem. Corgi or a Sheltie. I think I'll hold off on another Border Collie for awhile. I've got enough of that in my house for right now. I wouldn't probably get one from a breeder though so whatever dog I fall for in a shelter/rescue is good enough for me.

More likely than not another Alapaha. Though there is a small chance of it being a Mal (if I can find the perfect one that I could actually live with without wanting to kill myself).

I really was thinking kelpie, but several agility friends are trying to urge me towards a smooth BC instead. Given that they have more experience in it than I (and it would be an easier dog to find), I'm guessing it'll probably go that way. I'd like to do it in another year/18 months or so.
oh go with a kelpie, you know you want to lol

I did fall in love witht he BC and definetly want one one day (probably after my next dog) but I just have that special place for Kelpies.
I'm wanting to go with a breeder though, 1) I want the puppy faze and 2) I want to avoid DA as much as I can
I don't think I;ll get another dog untill I'm moved out with a few rental references in my background atleast, one dog will be hard enough to rent with, I woudl like to get my own cat maybe next year so then renting will be harder, renting with 3 pets, 2 being workign breed dogs isn't going to be an easy feat when I'm late teens/early 20's so I'm trying to hold off.

I'm also a big fan of koolies, I just love them, and the more I look, the more they fallinto shelters

oh, and when I do get my pug... he will wear a black studded collar and his name will be Rex :) I didn't used to like pugs but I've fallen for their personality, they are gorgeous and I'm in love with them now

I always thought my next breed would be another Akita ... then I got one Golden Retriever but wanted 2 dogs — so, I considered & reconsidered & got a 2nd Golden.

I'm thinking my next dog will be another Akita or a Great Dane but I'm hopefully years & years & many more years away from making that decision.

LOL Can't imagine importing a rescue from Australia, and they aren't such common rescue dogs here in the States. Part of the issue I've also learned is that over here, a lot of the Kelpie breeders are breeding them for cattle work rather than sheep, and are turning them more into that personality.

I spoke to one coolie breeder over here, but again, the limited number of breeders (and having no personal connections to them) would likely mean I would feel like I had to compromise on SOMETHING.

We'll see. I'm not ruling out a kelpie, but certainly am considering a BC more than I thought I would. A second dog is at least a year away, as I want to get Meg a little more solid in her agility training. I figure if I get a puppy when she is four or five, it'll be ready to compete when she is seven or eight. Should work out nicely:). Plus, that'll give Meg lots of time to train it for me; she's so spectacular in the house and barn, I really want my next dog to benefit from her influence!

Your right Boston, I'd love this fariy land where I can get a puppy and it will magically have good behaviour but I know it will pick up a lot on Buster so I defintly want all his training more solid before I even think of adding another dog, which is exactly why I wouldn't have another dog while I lived here at home.

John and I have narrowed it down to four breeds once we get into our new house. It will either be a Pit Bull, Golden Retriever, Doberman or another German Shepherd. Of course, it will be a rescue.
I'll take Juno, when you get it. :D No one gets TWO adorable new dogs, that just wouldn't be fair!

I really, really want a black GSD or GSD mix. My friend has one, Peanut, that I ADORE. But I have a feeling we'll be getting another Sibe when we move to a house with a yard (which i'm thinking/hoping will be SOON). My dad keeps saying he wants a male Sibe with blue eyes, and I keep telling him I don't want another big dog until we move (It's hard enough with Holly, because we don't have a fence, and when I let her out it's either for a walk, and she's on a leash, or she's on her tie-out, running around, and I want a FENCE) but I might be able to talk him into a GSD. :D

Oh, here's Peanut. I may just steal her instead of finding my own:

She's a GSD/Lab.

When I move out, I'm rescuing a Greyhound.

I never thought I would own any other breed of Dog besides a Bully breed (Amstaff, APBT or AB etc...) but finding quality breeders of these breeds that stress sound temperament and sound healthy bodies is hard to find.

I have been helping someone in my family and friend do some research and I am actually thinking my next dog, (which I hope is a long time from now) will be a Rottie, GSD or maybe a Presa. These breeds have bad breeders to but wow they have some real good breeders (at least the Rottie and GSD).

Doberman, Husky, Bernese Mountain Dog, or a Golden Retriever.

I'm leaning more towards a Golden and a Dobe in the FFFAAAAAARRRRR future.

I'm waiting for my brown Newfoundland puppy. I should get her either in 3-4 months, or I will have to wait for the next breeding happening in 5-6 months(so add 8 weeks to that).

I'd like to own a Landseer Newfie soon(don't tell the BF), but I also am excited to get my show Cardigan. Those two breeds I'd like to always have. In the far future, though, I'd like a CAO. When I can handle one :D

edit- I am also looking forward to rescuing. I'd love a Shar Pei mix.. Or a Catahoula Dog. Or just a large breed rescue. But I won't ignore other rescues. I will start looking for a rescue probably within a year or two.
