Hmmm what I get next will really depend on where I am when I am ready for another dog...I will deffinately always have at least one preferably two Siberian Huskies (just enough pulling power to get around even if I''m not competing) for sledding/scootering, obedience, and therapy work. Maybe agility...
From there here is the list in no particular order because like I said, what i get next depends on where I am and what I''m doing.
-Caucasian Ovcharka from a breeder already picked out (livestock guarding)
-Central Asian Ovcharka from a breeder already picked out (livestock guarding)
-Sarplaninac no specific breeder picked out but I know who I will go to to point me in the right direction (livestock guarding)
-Patterdale Terrier/Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Jag Terrier mix breeder already picked out (rodent hunter, obedience, agility, flyball, therapy)
I also want a "right hand dog" but am torn as to which breed I want. The ones I am juggling are: Rottweiller, American Bulldog, American Pit Bull Terrier, Belgian Malinois, Belgian Tervuren, Australian Kelpie, Australian Cattle Dog, Dutch Shepherd or a European German Shepherd...hmmm so many choices! I have a few others floating around my mind but those are the ones that keep popping up. Depending on which breed I choose I want to do - personal protection, bite work, shutzhund, french ring, obedience, therapy, herding (both competitive and at home), and anything else I can get involved in.
The livestock I was referring to above is livestock I hope to own as I hope to own a very large farm/ranch and have some horses, a highlander cow or two, some goats and a few chickens. But again, who knows what I will end up with! As much as I have thought and planned and pondered I could end up in a small apartment with a Rennaissance Bulldog (another breed I really like) or a Chinese Crested (hairless variety)...
