Strider just started a bag of Wellness Core. He likes it all right, we'll see what it does for his health. Does anybody have any experience with both brands that would be willing to give us an idea of how both worked for their dogs and which they liked better?
I'd like to try putting him of TOTW prairie, but sometimes he gets the poots when he eats lamb. He does so much better with high red meat content in his diet though. Bird meat just doesn't have "it" I guess. I got a sample bag but the day I mixed it into his food was the day he happened to get sick and he threw it all up (not related to the food! He and my friend's puppy got into something gross and both got sick at the same time). Anyway, I didn't get to see if he had any problems with it. The Wellness is mostly chicken and turkey, which isn't what I was hoping for him.
We got a test bag of the EVO red meat formula, and he didn't like it. That was weird, because he likes all food, even pickles.
Anyway, if folks out there have any more suggestions for red meat foods we could try on him, let us know. He seems to do the very best on the following proteins:
Rabbit
Beef
Venison
Bison
I wish we had our farm. Then we would totally get a giant freezer and start raising fryer rabbits. *sigh*
