I am really bummed. I have read some posts that make me want to cry. Peeps leaving because they dont feel welcome. That is what makes a forum the ability to express yourself without the feeling of being bashed for your beliefs or if you want to poke fun not getting 40 lashes with a wet noodle for doing so.

I fell in love with Chaz and its members because it is a melting pot of attitude, experience and friendship....that friendship and kind words that has helped me alot down the way with numerous conflicts I have had in my life. Each and every person here is unique because we are not alike. We are our own person....

I looked and still look forward to trying to visit daily to see how everyone is doing.....I am still waiting to hear on Julie and that little one that is due here in a few days. I loved to read about the pups being born. Granted there are some people here that have a stubborn streak but thats ok, nothing wrong with it.

Heres to staying a family that we have all seem to have become. To watching new puppies being born (and you know what if they were mated by mistake thats ok, it happens, just support your fellow chazzer) to listen about new additions to the family (both 2 and 4 legged) and if someone may take on more than they can handle, thats ok, it happens. To listen about upcoming marriages, divorces etc.

Love to all

I love chaz too and wish people would stay. Ah well some people just gotta realize that words on a screen are nothing more than that.

This forum is always changing. All forums do. I always love it even on the bad days like today. Things will sort themselves out.

I just shrug when I see people post that they're leaving. A person would only do that for the attention - if they just wanted to leave, they could do it quietly and post privately to those they want to keep in contact. A public post is for attention.

A forum like this is not for everyone. I've been active online in various email lists and forums for nine years now and they ALWAYS go through shifts. People come and people go. There are times of huge dissonance and times of great comfort. It's just the nature of a forum.

Anyone leaving because they are upset over someone else stating an opinion or they feel neglected or "picked on" should probably leave. They may not have the emotional strength to handle this kind of place. If you walk away from your computer and find yourself still stressing over something said online, then this is not a good place for you.

There are places online that are small groups of like-minded people - THIS is not one of them. The only thing bringing these people together is a common interest of being a dog owner. Other than that, there's a wide variety of beliefs represented here. People don't train the same, have the same ideas in breeding, like the same KIND of dogs, and certainly don't share the same religious or political views. And all of this is normal for a forum like Chazhound.

So I don't weep for those leaving. They'll either come back as themselves, come back under some other handle, or not come back at all. In the big picture, it just plain doesn't matter much. If it's someone that I've acquired a friendship with, then I'll keep in contact with them outside of the forum.

It's not like Chazhound is going to fall apart because a few players leave.

Honestly?

I think it feels the same now as it always has (well - since I have visited here).

I posted MONTHS and MONTHS ago about the way people deal with posts.

Thank GOD someone does :D

I was beginning to worry that people thought this was real life..... I have been trying to stress that people need to define between the two :D

Life is too short to be petty and hateful. I think we're a pretty good bunch here ... considering the age differences, and the slews of different breeds...each of which are handled differently . One cannot fault another as to raising a pup as each person and pup is different. And yes, treat each poster as if you were nose to nose and looking them in the eye ! It's too easy to be hateful on line.

Yah, no kidding! I haven't been able to get the song out of my head ever since.:p
I read somewhere that all you have to do to cure Earworm is sing the song (please, for the sake of your dog, if you're tone deaf like me do this in your head) the whole way through. Ugh, I hate that song. :)

Blasphemer! :D
*hangs my head in shame* .. I know, I know .. how DARE I say I like real-time better! *LOL*

I do enjoy being online, like reading the different opinions and expressing mine. But when I walk away from the computer, my dogs and my family and my life take precedence and I just don't think much about what's going on here.

There was a time when I was very hooked on the internet .. I'm glad I'm past that. It's not particularly healthy.
