Thank you :)

Charlie and him get along, but being an older guy he does not want
to play, but Charlie of course keeps trying!

The poor guys coat was terrible, not just long and matted, but
very very brittle and thin :(

He got a groom just today and seems to be feeling much better
(though unlike Charlie he is a wuss about the cold :D )

We also took him to the vet for a basic check up, but being
an older dog we need to do blood tests and a fecal test
still. I am worried he may not be with us long, but I will
love him while he is.

WOOOHOOOO! You have Rocky now! You get special kudos for adopting a sweet senior.

Is Rocky still Rocky? Or are you going to change his name?

No, I am going to keep the name Rocky. After 10 years he clearly knows
it and I don't think its fair to change it at this point. Not to mention his
nickname was Rocky Balboa, which is kinda cool :)

I agree, I bet he will surprise you. I think a lot of older dogs like Rocky and my Shadow don't do as well at a shelter, they don't like the noise and bustle after a quiet life with an elderly owner.

Shadow perked right up put on weight he had lost and got absolutely frisky after his first week back in a real home.

I think you did the right thing keeping his old name, he knows it and it sounds like his previous owner treated him well. I think you are in for some happy times ahead with your new family member.

Thank you everyone for your best wishes. I am going to
be relying on you all for help for sure, I have never had
a senior dog before and I am jumping over every little
thing :)
